Writing Center Staff
David received his BS in Nutrition Science and MA in Healthcare Management from the University of California and The University of Iowa, respectively. After a successful 25 year international career in healthcare management, David married and settled in Istanbul. Prior to Sehir, beginning in 2009, David taught in the English Preparatory Program at Boğaziçi University. In 2010 David received a CELTA from the University of Cambridge. David founded the Writing Center in January 2012 and went on to teach the first critical writing course for the graduate program. David is very interested and passionate about helping students improve their writing and speaking skills.
Rana Marcella Özenç
Upon graduation from the Translation and Interpretation Department, Bilkent University, in 1999, she decided to further continue her studies in International Business, in order to specialize in the field and work as a conference interpreter in this field. While obtaining her MBA degree from the University of New Haven, she began working as a teaching assistant, which marks the start of an academic career. After moving back to Turkey, she worked at Haliç University as lecturer, and at the same time, as a free-lance conference interpreter. At the moment, she is pursuing her work as a PhD student at Boğaziçi University, Department of Translation and Interpreting.
